Happy Birthday, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol is celebrating a special birthday for a Patroller who makes it possible for the Toddster to bring this little column to you every week. A great greeting to the editor of this little paper you hold in your hand and he’s the Jeffmeister (don’t call him chief or late for dinner). We’ve always appreciated what the guy has done for us and continues to do since we get to write about movies and spread the word of the Patrol to you. Now let’s get busy.
New on DVD
Tron: Legacy - It makes you think what you miss when it’s gone. Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund) often thought a lot about his dad Kevin (Jeff Bridges). What Sam doesn’t know is his dad has a secret. Twenty years ago, Kevin had the misfortune of being digitally scanned into a computer by a master program and had to find a way out with the help of a security guardian called Tron (Bruce Boxleitner). Kevin found his way out and it led to him becoming a legend in the computer business. Kevin disappeared from his son’s life and now years later, Sam receives a message from Kevin that leads him to the old arcade that he spent time at when he was a kid. Suddenly, Sam finds himself zapped into the same digital world that Kevin found himself in. Will Sam find a way to survive and solve the mystery of his dad’s disappearance? Hedlund can be seen in another great DVD just coming out with Gwyneth Paltrow called “Country Strong” where a big time country star is trying to pick up the pieces of her career and become a success again. Also, a third “Tron” sequel is already in the works.
