Chenango Blues Fest performance to air on radio

NORWICH – Fans of the Chenango Blues Festival looking for a little taste of their favorite summer event during these cold winter months will have a chance to do just that at 7 p.m. on Friday – a WSQX-FM, 91.5 broadcast of the Beale Street Caravan featuring a 2004 Blues Fest performance by The Lee Boys.

While local residents in the southern half of Chenango County may be able to pick up the Binghamton-based station on their home or car radio, the performance will also be aired online at www.wskg.org for those who reside in the northern region. Simply click on the Listen Live option for WSQX on WSKG’s Radio page. WSQX-FM is owned by the WSKG Public Telecommunications Council.

Featuring brothers Alvin (guitar), Derrick and Keith Lee (vocals), in addition to nephews Roosevelt Collier (pedal steel), Alvin Cody, Jr. (bass) and Earl Walker (drums), The Lee Boys are considered by many blues enthusiasts as one of the county’s most talented sacred-steel ensembles. A uniquely distinct blend of gospel, blues, soul, funk and rhythm-n-blues, sacred steel music has garnered more and more attention over the last decade, thanks to ensembles like The Lee Boys.
