SHERBURNE – Playing its third game in four days, Sherburne-Earlville’s offense caught fire in the middle two periods in Monday’s victory over visiting Canastota.

Trailing the Raiders by one after one quarter, Cameron Yerton sparked the S-E offense hitting a trio of three balls in the second stanza, and Paul Romanenko came off the bench to score seven lifting the Marauders to a 35-30 halftime lead.

Yerton and Romanenko shared the scoring honors with 14 points, and Branden McDaniel added 12. “I was very pleased with our offensive balance tonight,” said S-E coach Kevin Vibbard. “It was Canastota’s first game and we withstood their early storm. We shot the ball better after the first quarter, and slowly but surely took the lead and pulled away.”
