Cyclones Sweep 3 Games

ROME – The Norwich Cyclones “A” team downed the Rome Colts 45-26 here Sunday, part of a three-game sweep.

It took the Cyclones one minute and 10 seconds to get on the board as Tristan Rifanburg took the opening kickoff to the Colts’ 10, and scored from the one yard line moments later.

John Marvin scored on a 26-yard pass from Cameron Edwards. Marvin also scored on a 45-yard scamper – all in the first quarter.

Rifanburg added to the Cyclones’ tally with a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second. Marvin scored his third TD on a 39-yard sweep for 32-12 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, it was Carlos Ithier scoring on a three-yard plunge. Matt Craig took a Colts kickoff 61 yards to paydirt later in the half off great blocks from Spencer Stone and Killian Benedict.

Jordan Vinal passed for two extra points reaching both Benedict and Kevin Porack, and he also ran in his own conversion.
