OXFORD – There a new place in town where ‘Maxine’ can get her nails done or ‘Buddy’ can get a great shampoo … it’s Oxford Grooming. Sorry, it isn’t a spa for people, they cater specifically in services for pets. If you’re a dog owner – of any breed – you need to check out the variety of professional services available, and Oxford Grooming is inviting you to come in and visit, especially during their Open House on Sept. 4.

The Oxford Grooming shop opened mid-August in the Navy Island Block at 16 Main St. by proprietors Lori and Rick Johnson. The Johnsons originally hail from the Garden State, but Lori has relatives in Oxford, so they recently decided to “follow the clan.” They have taken root here in Chenango County, including their four children who will be attending Oxford Academy. Together, Lori and Rick bring with them over 20 years in the pet care business; 15 years in grooming. Lori is a graduate of The North Jersey School of Dog Grooming and Rick is an experienced dog trainer.
