Published: August 10th, 2010

NEW BERLIN – The Colorscape Chenango Plein Aire Painters of Central New York began their third season of painting on Thursday, July 8, at Golden Artists Colors on Bell Road in New Berlin. They will continue to paint every Thursday throughout the summer. The public is invited to join them. This is your chance to watch artists at work in a relaxed, open-air setting. The events are free and suitable for the whole family.

What is Plein Aire? It’s a French expression which means “in the open air,” and is particularly used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Plein Aire painting sessions will take place every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The painting schedule for the month of August and early September is as follows:

• Aug. 12: Elm Street (end of road), Gerry Lake, Oxford
