Oxford 9, Bainbridge 1

OXFORD – Oxford pitchers Andrew Golden and Justin Schray combined to throw a three-hitter in defeating Bainbridge Monday in the Otsenango Pony League.

Schray had a double and two singles finishing with a pair of RBI to lead Oxford’s hitters. “We played our best overall game this year,” said Oxford coach Jim Champlin. “Our situational hitting was superb. Six different players had an RBI, and Joe Nelson was outstanding at second base. Hopefully, this bodes well as we enter the final stretch of the season.”

Oxford (5-3) hosts Edmeston on Thursday and finishes the regular season at Greene on Monday.
