COPES CORNERS – G-MU dropped its first Tri-Valley League division game in seven outings on Tuesday, but still maintains a one-game lead over Morris with three games to play in the regular season.

Josh Myers hit a two-run double in the opening inning for the Mustangs, who never trailed in the game. “We didn’t come out with the intensity we needed today,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “Justin Utter (Morris’ pitcher) did a nice job and kept us off balance.”

Justin Utter, Myers, and Joe Utter all finished with two hits apiece for the Morris. The Mustangs also played error-free ball, while the Raiders (6-1, 9-2) committed eight errors.
