G-MU 12, Edmeston 10

EDMESTON – G-MU won for the ninth time in 10 games this season taking a hard-fought victory from Tri-Valley League rival Edmeston on Thursday.

Edmeston closed to within two runs scoring three runs in the sixth thanks to four Raiders errors.

Ian Edwards delivered the eventual winning runs for the Raiders with a two-run single in the top of the seventh. “We had three big games this week, and you get drained physically and mentally,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson, whose club made eight errors, all of them from the third inning on. “We were up 7-1 in the third and thought we might cruise. We came out relaxed in the third, made some errors, and suddenly it fell apart for a little bit. We were able to pick it back up and get the lead back to 10-5.”
