Seven of the errors occurred in the opening three innings allowing the Sabers to build a 6-0 lead. Norwich scored five in the fourth to draw within one run before SV answered with two more runs. “II was happy with the way we fought back in the game, but we continue to hurt ourselves in the field,” said Norwich coach John Martinson.

Otselic Valley 28, George Jr. Republic 5

SOUTH OTSELIC – Trevor Marston went seven innings for the win, and OV socred at least two runs in every inning to blow out George Jr. Republic in a non-league game Wednesday.

Chuck Bishop had two hits including a double and drove in a team-high four runs for the Vikings. Chase Marston and Trevor Marston also had two hits.

“After the first inning, their pitchers couldn’t find the strike zone,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “Their first pitcher looked good for a while, they he just sort of lost control.”

Cooperstown 11, Sherburne-Earlville 2

SHERBURNE – For the second straight game, Sherburne-Earlville found itself on the wrong side of a triple play as Cooperstown cruised past the Marauders Wednesday.

Similar to the triple play in Monday’s loss, S-E’s attempted bunt with runners on first and second was scooped by Cooperstown’s pitcher (Jared Hotaling) for the first out. The runners on second and first also failed to get back to the bag safely as outs two and three were subsequently recorded.

Cooperstown’s offense had little trouble putting runs on the boad over the first four innings. A misplayed flyball in the fourth inning with the bases loaded scored three runs. Hotaling added a two-run homer, and Kyle Liner had three hits for Cooperstown.

“It was really windy today, and we probably had four or five misplays in the outfield that cost us five runs,” said S-E coach Brian Hicks.

Jake Bohnert had three hits for S-E and Carter Cole finished with two hits.
