Delhi managed just one hit in the game, that coming from J.J. Darling to lead off the game. Darling moved to third after a fielder’s choice and a passed ball, and scored on Josh Sikora’s sacrifice fly.

“We hit ground balls all game, not one fly ball,” said Afton coach Ron Rapp. “Their shortstop and third baseman made some nice plays, and we just didn’t find any holes.”

Homer pitched the last three innings for Delhi striking out seven for the save.

Afton’s Mike Muller was the hard-luck loser. He gave up the single basehit to Darling, while registering eight strikeouts and just two base on balls.

Afton (0-1) hosts Sidney today.
