EARLVILLE – Three candidates are campaigning for two open seats on the Village of Earlville’s Board of Trustees. Village voters may make their selections from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 16 in the village office.

Incumbents William Excell and Mark Doeberl are being challenged by Michael Kicinski, a candidate for mayor in the 2007 election and a local chicken farmer. Trustees serve for a two-year term.

Excell, who is running for a second term, works for the New York State Department Of Transportation and is an emergency management technician for Cooperstown Medical. He is also a volunteer fireman for the Earville and South Otselic fire departments.

The candidate’s family has resided in Earlville for three generations. He said he is proud of the trustees’ work to keep taxes steady for the past two years and would like to continue in office in order to see the village’s $3.5 million water improvement project through.
