Greene Races To Early Lead In Blowout Victory Over Unadilla Valley

Greene 87, Unadilla Valley 40

NEW BERLIN – Greene raced to a 49-14 halftime lead, and finished with four players in double figures in a rout of Unadilla Valley Wednesday.

Scott Gorton nailed five three-pointers in the second quarter on his way to a game-high 27 points. Brendan Kinne scored seven in the opening quarter, and finished with a career-high 20 points. “We didn’t handle the ball well when we ran our offense,” said UV coach Matt Osborne. “We turned it over, and they were quick getting up and down the floor.”

Mark McDermott posted a 13-point night, and Kyle Gorton came off the bench to score a season-best 11 points.

Mike Schowe scored 11 points to lead UV.
