City cuts ribbon on first of Brown Ave. duplexes

NORWICH – Approximately 30 members of the public and city officials attended a ribbon cutting Friday to mark the completion of the first of what’s to become six duplexes of the Brown Avenue Homes. The homes, conceived, designed, developed and funded through the Norwich Housing Authority (NHA), will serve as affordable and accessible housing for seniors. City leaders praised NHA Executive Director Judy Wingate-Wade and NHA board members for their long-standing dedication to the project over the past eight years. Pictured are NHA attorney James Downey, 6th Ward Alderman Robert Jeffrey, NHA board members Jane Prime, Kay Zaia and Anthony Caezza, Mayor Joseph P. Maiurano, NHA board member Gary Lackos, Wingate-Wade, and NHA board member Pat Whitmore.
