Common Cents thrift shop moving to new location

OXFORD – The Common Cents Thrift Shop is moving to the ‘heart of the Village’ at 4 LaFayette Park. Currently located in the United Methodist Church (UMC) on South Washington Avenue, Common Cents will remain open at that location through the end of September. It will close Oct.1-3 to move in between new neighbors, 6 On The Square and Hoppie’s, in the former ‘Creative Stamping’ location. You are invited to celebrate with them.

Common Cents will be open in its new location on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Don’t miss the Grand Opening ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. Festivities will include a ribbon cutting, dignitaries, a shop blessing, free drawing, give-aways and refreshments. DJ Jim Baldwin will be the Master of Ceremonies and will provide his professional musical touch. Please come to help celebrate and check out the new look.

Since 2006, Common Cents, (formerly known as the Community Clothes Closet), has enjoyed the spacious UMC Fellowship Hall. (Many will remember that prior to this; the much smaller Clothes Closet was upstairs in the Oxford Memorial Library.) Many thanks to the United Methodist Church for providing such generous space for Common Cents over the years. Also a special thanks to all those who have helped make it possible to move to this prime location.
