Mygatt’s family history explored in Oxford program

OXFORD – On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the Oxford Historical Society invites you to a special evening program at the Depot-Museum featuring ‘The Life and Career of Henry R. Mygatt and Family’. The early Mygatts had emigrated from England and made their mark in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York.

Still, he's not well known to locals despite his large oil portrait that hung in the Oxford Academy Middle School for years, marked “Trustee 1841-1875” and is now prominent in the local museum.
