GREENE – Greene picked up the scoring pace in the second half tacking on four goals to blank Sidney on Friday.

Alex Driscoll scored in the 25th minute of the second half, and Jake Shearer tallied three minutes later raising the lead to five goals.

“We started slow, but we were able to get it going in the second half,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “We were able to control the possession, and I think our experience was a big factor.”

Mikki Brown, Chad Noelle, Nate Patrick, and Ryan Ludwig added goals for Greene, who host Delhi on Wednesday.

SHERBURNE – Ilion scored three times in the second half to break away from the Marauders and win the consolation game of the S-E Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Nathan Layman had two goals for Ilion in a tightly-matched contest. “We played a good, consistent game, and all three goals were fantastic,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. “Two were from outside the 18-yard line, and one was set up on a counter after we had pushed up our offense.”
