Greater Norwich Foundation honors scholarship recipients

NORWICH – The 2009 Greater Norwich Foundation Scholarship Recipients were photographed behind NBT Bank on Monday, Aug. 3.

New graduates of Norwich High School who are recipients of the Greater Norwich Foundation scholarships are: Alan Horovitz Sports Person of the Year, Vaughn Labor attending Cortland College; Alan Horovitz All Around Student, David Carson attending Florida Southern College; Clara Robbins awards, Brooke Ireland attending Ithaca College, Timothy Clark attending Binghamton University, Nola Russell attending Ithaca College, Kylie Renfrow attending LeMoyne College; Marcia Stewart Memorial Scholarship, Cara Frink attending University at Albany; Linda Sands Memorial Scholarship, Jamie Nassar attending Clarkson University; Karen Brown Memorial Scholarship, Tyler Slater, attending Cortland College; Greater Norwich Foundation “Special”, Aaron Haynes attending SUNY IT; John & James Westcott Scholarship, Abigail Dean, attending LeMoyne College, Margaret Forsythe Scholarship, Jennifer Elder, attending Pennsylvania State University, Harrison & Betty Edwards Science Scholarship, Allan Sun, attending Hulman Institute of Technology; Richard & Marian Cook Foundation Scholarship, Michelle Testani attending Binghamton University.

In total, $34,000 in scholarships was awarded this year by the Greater Norwich Foundation. In addition to the above scholarships, the Foundation provided a total of $260,043 to non-profit community organizations in the greater Norwich area during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008.
