NEW BERLIN – This weekend the Village of New Berlin will be filled with the bright colors of hand-stitched quilts and the excitement of youth as a number of community groups come together at the 2009 Quilting in New Berlin Show.

The Saturday event features a number of activities centered around Hyde Park, including St. Theresa’s Church Indoor Quilt Show, the village’s Outdoor Quilt Show and Community Yard Sale, Unadilla Valley Quilter’s Club Quilt Raffle and Bake Sale, New Berlin Police Department Bike Saftey Program, Little Foote’s Preschool’s craft tent, the New Berlin Fire Department will have a fire truck on display for the children and their EMS personnel will present a demonstration of basic first aid.

All the events are all scheduled between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. this Saturday at, or very near, Hyde Park in the Village of New Berlin.

“There are a lot of different youth-oriented activities going on, sponsored by a number of local community groups. It’s a great time. My family and I attended last year’s and it was great and we’re looking forward to this year’s,” said New Berlin Village Mayor Wade Schrag.
