EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House and Black Cat Antiques and Gifts have teamed up to present a unique and fun Mother’s Day weekend event. At 2 p.m. on Saturday, a Mother’s Day Tea and Fashion Show will be presented in the Arts Cafe at the Earlville Opera House.

Ten models, wearing two outfits each, will present vintage fashions from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Each model will walk the runway in their first outfit. A brief intermission will follow as the models prepare for their second turn.

“The Opera House was trying to figure out a fundraiser and they had pretty much decided on a Mother’s Day tea,” said EOH member and owner of Black Cat Antiques, Dode Page. Page said she had the idea to incorporate a vintage fashion show into the event. “A lot of us were skeptical about the event at first, not knowing if there would be any interest,” Page said, but already the event is sold out.
