S-E Completes First Run Through League Play Unbeaten

S-E 13, Sauquoit Valley 4

SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville completed its first run the Center State Conference play unbeaten knocking off Sauquoit Valley Thursday.

The Indians, who had just beaten Cooperstown the day before, allowed nine runs to S-E in the fourth who are now 5-0 in division play. “We’re really hitting the ball well now,” said S-E coach Brian Hicks, whose team had 21 hits. After building a 12-0 lead, he pulled back the reins on his team’s offense. “This puts us in pretty good shape for the second half of the division schedule.”

Mike Doscher was a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, Jake Sampson went 4-for-5 with three RBI, Stephen Buddenhagen went 3-for-3 with three ribbies, and Nate Kline finished 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Otselic Valley 14, Madison 6

MADISON – Otselic Valley improved to 4-0 scoring seven runs in the fourth to build a nine-run lead.

David Cerasani, Brad Wentworth, and Adam Duell all had two RBI for the Vikings. Jamin Selan finished 3-for-5 at the plate, and Karl Graham was 2-for-3. Cerasani pitched a complete-game four-hitter for the win.
