Norwich readies for After-Prom Party

NORWICH – Fundraising is actively underway for the 8th Annual Norwich High School After Prom Party that is scheduled to take place from midnight to 5 a.m. May 31 at the Norwich Family YMCA.

Students have been meeting regularly to organize the many events and activities planned. The entertainment will be comprised of a disk jockey, caricature artist, hypnotist, games, other events and door prizes. Snack foods and drinks will also be provided.

Students attending the event will have the opportunity to win a $1,000 grand prize and other cash certificates for clothing, gifts and meals.

β€œThis tradition has been a great success in the past, averaging 80-90 percent of the students attending. We are hoping to achieve 100 percent participation this year,” said Mary Lou Eddy of Norwich, a parent and co-founder of the event.

The students particulary enjoy the stage hypnosis performed by certified hypnotist and motivational counselor, Robert D. Shelly, Eddy said.
