NORWICH – Norwich dropped a pair of decisions Friday and Saturday to Oneonta and Seton Catholic Central to remain winless on the season.

Friday, Norwich was unable to hold its early lead as Oneonta mounted its comeback with a five-run fifth against a worn-down Tornado bullpen.

Nate Eastman highlighted the Oneonta fifth with a two-run single to turn a 5-1 early deficit into a two-run Yellowjackets lead.

Norwich was hampered by the hamstring injury to starter Christian Hotaling, who left after pitching a scoreless first frame. “Oneonta was patient at the plate and the sat on the fastball,” said Norwich coach John Martinson. “They did a nice job making contact with runners in scoring position.”

Brock Kossman had a two-run double in the third inning for Norwich.

Nate Jones was a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples and a double leading the Saints past Norwich Saturday afternoon.

Nick Gosney was 3-for-4 to lead Seton with two triples and a double.

Norwich strung together six hits in the sixth inning scoring five runs to make it 7-6. Mike Moon led Norwich with two hits and one RBI, and Kyle Cashman added a two-run single.
