SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley advanced to the semifinal round of the Section III, Class D-2 tournament with its third win over Stockbridge Valley this season.

The Vikings outscored the Indians by a combined 41-15 in the first and third quarters, and Brad Wentworth got OV out to a good start with 13 of his 16 points in the opening guard.

“We had a couple of big quarters, and that was the biggest difference,” said OV coach Dave Loomis.

The Vikings’ defense also limited SV’s key scorers, Tanner Bluewolf and Alex Dickerman, to five total points. “We did a super job on two of their better players, and we figured we would have a good chance to win if we did that,” Loomis said.

David Cerasani led the Vikings (18-3) with 17 points and 10 assists. Jefferson Pittsley added a season-high 14 points.

OV plays either Brookfield or Oppenheim-Ephratah next Thursday.
