Carnation sale benefits Habitat for Humanity

OXFORD – Michelle Davis is the new Red Carnation Chairperson, assisted by Sandra Colton, for Chenango County Habitat for Humanity, and they are gearing up for the 15th annual Red Carnation Sale. The sale raises funds to support Chenango County Habitat for Humanity’s current project, a house being built on 7 Mill Street in Greene, and future projects. Orders for carnations will be taken from Jan. 10-25, by calling a representative in your area or Sandra Colton 334-7492.

Red carnation prices are $10/half dozen; and $15/dozen. In years past, Habitat’s 300+ volunteers have sold over 15,000 flowers, raising close to $9,000, and this year they hope to increase that number. Distributions and pick-ups will be on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Wednesday, Feb. 11 – just in time for Valentine’s Day bouquets for sweethearts.
