Norwich Legion gives back to community

NORWICH – American Legion Post 189 of Norwich made several donations over the holiday season – $1,000 to Catholic Charities, $1,000 to Emmanuel Episcopal Church’s food pantry; $1,000 to the United Methodist Church soup kitchen and a 5x9 U.S. flag flown over Washington, D.C. to St. Bartholomew’s Church. Missing from the photo was Mary Webb of the United Methodist Church. “During these tight economic times, we have to remember our neighbor charities and the fine volunteer work they are doing,” Alksnis said.
