E Sell-it opens downtown location

NORWICH – The owners of E-Sell-it have been operating in the Norwich area for over two years, but after holding a grand opening at their new Broad Street location Monday, they hope they will be able to reach more people with their eBay sales business.

Store owners James and Tracy Knecht explained that despite their two years of business in the Norwich area, there was a lack of exposure in their previous location on Brown Avenue. From their new drop-off location at the corner of Broad and Main streets in Norwich, they hope to become a more visible presence in the community.

Tracy and James began selling items on eBay as a hobby, but when an injury forced James into early retirement, the couple decided to turn the pass time into a business. “We spent two years researching this business. We knew other people had tried it and failed, and we looked at the reasons why,” Tracy said. “We’re still learning, but it has been fun doing it.”

Operating on a sliding commission scale, based on the selling price of the item, the Knechts have worked to make E Sell-it an easy and convenient option for their customers. “The more an item sells for, the smaller percentage we charge,” James said.
