Delhi 2, Greene 1 (OT)

GREENE – Greene came as close as any team in the Midstate Athletic Conference to beat or tie Delhi this season – or the last.

Avery Meehan unlocked what looked to be a tie contest with his second goal of the game. Meehan scored with 38 seconds left in the period, the margin of victory for the Bulldogs.

Tied at zero at the break, each team traded goals in the second half with Greene’s Jake Shearer scoring unassisted.

Otselic Valley 5, DeRuyter 0

DERUYTER – Under the lights at DeRuyter, Otselic Valley heads into the Section III playoffs on the upswing with a shutout of the Rockets Friday.

OV (11-6) scored twice in the first half to take command, and five different players were credited with goals.

“We did a real good job controlling the game with our passing, and our shots found the net,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “That hasn’t happened in a lot of games this season, but we did a better job of focusing on putting it in the net, and it showed up in the scoring.”

Adam Duell, Nate Stark, Dave Cerasani, Dusty Davis, and Brandon Coye had goals in the OV win.
