Norwich 2, Chenango Valley 1 (OT)

NORWICH – Norwich caught a bit of a break to net the tying goal, and proceeded to notch an overtime goal in prevailing over Chenango Valley Monday night.

Norwich’s Catrina Handy jumped to head the ball on a cornerkick, and the Chenango Valley goalie was unable to handle the ball cleanly among traffic. The deflection went to Sarah Bonnell who scored the tying goal with 15 minutes left.

Bonnell scored the winner in the second 10-minute overtime taking a pass from Elisha Eddy at the 18-yard line, one-touching the ball, and blasting it past the keeper. “At this point of the season, the girls are playing better,” said Norwich coach Jeremy Bolton, whose club improved to 4-9. “It’s nice to see the wins come, and this was a good, quality win.”
