DeRuyter 2, Otselic Valley 1

DERUYTER – DeRuyter won its second tight league game over Otselic Valley this season scoring two runs in the fourth to hand the Vikes a Central Counties League defeat Monday.

Ethan Grimes scored the eventual winning run with a single in the fourth to make it a 2-0 game. OV closed the gap in the sixth getting a single ribbie from Brad Wentworth. “It was another one of those games where we had baserunners on, and we could not get hits at the right time,” said Vikings coach Dave Loomis. “Twice we had runners on second and third with no outs, and were not able to score.”

Chris Olin had a double and went 2-for-2 to pace OV (12-5), who play at Cincinnatus today.
