New principal at Holy Family

NORWICH – Eugene Chilion, a retired Unadilla Valley school district administrator and teacher, has been named principal of Holy Family School in Norwich, effective July 1.

Holy Family School is a private, parochial school operated by the Catholic Diocese of Syracuse under the auspices of the Catholic parishes of Chenango County. About 147 students attend classes in pre-kindergarten through the eighth grades.

A native of Central Islip, Long Island, Chilion has 35 years of experience in the education field. He holds degrees in secondary mathematics and science from the State University College of Oneonta. He completed graduate work at Oneonta and the College of St. Rose in Albany, and is a certified math teacher for grades 7-12. He received his administrative degree from SUNY Cortland.
