BAINBRIDGE – Dani Conway had one of B-G’s best individual games on record, and she became the second Bobcats player to reach 1,000 career points in one week’s time.

Conway had 23 points and 20 rebounds, just the second player in school history with a 20-20 game. Needing 20 points to reach the milestone mark, Conway’s putback basket with around three minutes left put her over the top.

Conway was also instrumental in her team’s solid fourth quarter. Teammate Mariah Schaeffer, who entered the 1,000-point club last weekend, hit a jumper to break a 48-48 tie, and Conway followed that up with her club’s only three-pointer of the game.

Schaeffer went on to score 25 points. “I thought Oxford played outstanding tonight, and it was a struggle from the start,” said B-G coach Bob Conway. “We didn’t get it going until the fourth quarter, and we were able to get a couple breaks, make some shots, and then gain some confidence.”

Conway scored 11 in the fourth, Schaeffer 10, and Liz Holbert all six of her points in a 27-13 stanza. Oxford (9-9) led by three points through three quarters thanks to its intense, physical play, Conway said.

Felicia Tynan scored 12 to lead Oxford, while Christi Baker, Hollyann Branham, and Alyshia Crawford tossed in eight apiece.

B-G (17-1) hosts Windsor Tuesday and plays Greene Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at SUNY Oneonta in the MAC league title game
