Norwich gears up for holidays with 13thAnnual Holiday Parade of Lights

NORWICH – On Saturday, Norwich will hold its kick off to the local holiday shopping season with the 13th Annual Christmas to Remember Holiday Parade of Lights.

A record number of people turned out for the parade last year, with between 4,000 to 5,000 in attendance, according to Parade Coordinator Linda Green. “We’re hoping for the same turnout this year. You won’t be disappointed,” Green said.

This year’s parade, stepping off at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow, will feature more than 52 units, including over 16 floats and eight fire department entries. In addition to the floats and fire companies, the parade will feature marching bands, including a Scottish Pipe Band, and a variety of vehicles, including ATVs carrying members of the Sherburne Wheelers, numerous motorcycles, many carrying members of the American Legion, and a 1930 Model A Doodlebug.
