COPENHAGEN – Otselic Valley’s run of upset wins ended in the Class D-2 boys’ soccer semfinals dropping a 1-0 final to Copenhagen Wednesday afternoon.

Just two minutes into the second half, a crossing pass found Shane Berghorn, who slid through the defense and scored the game’s lone goal.

The Vikings (9-8-2) made great strides in the second half of the season, Loomis said, and a nice contingent of contributing players returns next season. “I’m pleased with where we went this year and I think we can be proud of the point we reached this season,” Loomis said. “Our defense did very well the last half-dozen games, and Taylor (Duell) made some big saves for us.”
