Halfway House Bridge Project Awarded To Lowest Bidder

NORWICH – County Route 32B, known locally as the Halfway House Bridge because it is the midpoint between the towns of Norwich and Oxford, is finally on the docket to be replaced.

Low bidder Tioga Construction of Herkimer was awarded the work for a pricetag of $2.9 million during a meeting of the Chenango County Board of Supervisors Monday. The bridge spans the Chenango River connecting county Rt. 32 with state Route 12. Adjacent properties on the Rt. 12 side were purchased last month in order to accommodate the new bridge’s more south-westerly entrance.
