Oxford 7, B-G 6

OXFORD – Trevor Nelson’s hard infield grounder led to an error and scored the winning run for Oxford (9-1), who rallied from six runs down to defeat B-G Friday.

James Ruff stroked a two-run single in the second for B-G, and Kyle Davy, Chris McGinnis, and Brett Hayes drove in runs to put the Bobcats up by half a dozen. “We have a lot of senior leadership on this team, guys expect to win, and that showed today,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer.

Steve Locke pitched 5 1-3 scoreless innings of relief quieting the B-G bats to earn the victory. Locke also went 4-for-4 on the day to lead Oxford’s batters.
