Cooperstown 6, S-E 5

COOPERSTOWN – Sherburne-Earlville dropped its third one-run game in as many starts this season Monday at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown.

The Redskins answered S-E’s three-run fourth with three more runs in the fifth inning. Frank Petroskey and Luke Banner hit back-to-back doubles to score the go-ahead run. “We’re hitting the ball, but we’re not getting timely hits,” said S-E coach Brian Hicks. “We’re a young team and that will come. We’ve played a couple of good teams so far, and we hope to get back on track later this week.”

Ethan Sconzo had three hits and two RBI for the Marauders, Caleb Brown drove in two runs on two hits, and Chris Harvey went 2-for-4.
