OV students honor veterans

GEORGETOWN For years, students in the Otselic Valley Elementary School have been hosting a program to honor their local veterans. On Thursday, OV opened its doors to over 20 local veterans, and thanked them for service they have given.

The gym was packed full of people Thursday morning, as sixth grade teachers Jude Smith and Robin Leinbach presented the program. A color guard, made up of Earle Howell, a former Army soldier, Greg Cobb, a former Marine, and David White, a former Navy seaman, marched into the auditorium with the flag raised high. They stood guard throughout the program, retiring the flag at the end.
