Cyclones Win Three Against Holland Patent

NORWICH – The Norwich Cyclones’ "C" team led a sweep of Holland Patent at Alumni Field Sunday. The C team upended the Knights 19-0 in Tri-Valley League Pop Warner play.

Jaden McCrabie get the Cyclones on the board in the first stanza on a three-yard touchdown run, with Michael Sutton adding the point-after conversion.

In the second, it was Keegan Franklin with a one-yard plunge. Dane Jeffrey added a four-yard TD in the third quarter.

The Cyclones’ blue defense of Tristan Rifanburg, Sutton, Franklin, Jordan Lockwood, Michael Oralls, McCrabie, Matt Murray, Garrett Steiber, Raffe Morehead, Adrian Hoffman, Brooke Bonney, Corey Johnson, John Marvin, Everett Thompson, Matt Burke, and Jeffrey has played outstanding “D” throughout the season. Sunday, Matthew Craig, Devean Crandall, Killian Benedict, Taylor Dunham, and Trent Stone played big D also. Bobby Walberg led Holland Patent with 32 yards on the day.

The Cyclones’ "B" team won 27-7, with Paul Wonka leading on both sides of the ball. Wonka rushed for 159 yards with another 72 yards negated by penalties. Grant Brightman ran well proving difficult to bring down for the Knights.

Robert Wheeler opened Cyclones’ scoring on an 11-yard TD jaunt. A Jeff Witt pass to Brad Bishop was good for the P.A.T. Wonka added a four-yard TD in the first quarter.
