SIDNEY – The Greene Trojans baseball team traveled to Sidney on Thursday afternoon, where they picked up their first win of the season in a tight 6-5 game. The game was tied at five a piece and in the bottom of the seventh, Greene scored the game-winning and walk-off run on an error.

Sidney took an early 1-0 lead in the first off Parker Flanagan, who had loaded the bases with two outs and a run came home on an error before he struck out the last batter of the inning. Greene tied it up after the bases were loaded quick with three consecutive walks. Flanagan had an RBI on a sacrifice-fly to center field, which Tristan Donnelly tagged up and scored on.

Sidney went ahead 2-1 in the top of the second inning, where the Sabers scored on an error with the base runner scoring after already stolen second and third base. Greene tied it back up in the bottom of the third inning as Kenny Baucas came in to score on a passed ball. The Trojans had a three-run inning in the fourth to go up 5-2. Two runs scored on bases-loaded walks, one on a passed ball, and Flanagan grounded out and picked up his second RBI of the day.
