SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville shook off a sluggish opening half kicking up the offense in a dominant second half to improve to 3-0 on the season Tuesday.
Carter Cole scored on a header taking a cross from Elijah Morris five minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie, and Kevin Vibbard backed that tally up just three minutes later in a carbon-copy type play heading in a crossing pass from David Sulton. “We were still getting over that tournament funk in the first half. There was a lot of emotion and energy spent there,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez of the first half. “It was tough and we gave them Monday off. It was like slow motion in the first half, but we really put it together in the second half.”
Antonino Magro added the third S-E goal with Mike Harlost picking up an assist. The Marauders (3-0) play at Hamilton Thursday.
