Sonny Landreth comes to the Earlville Opera House

EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House is excited to welcome master guitarist Sonny Landreth with his 4-piece band on Saturday at 8 p.m. An intoxicating mix of rock, blues, and Cajun characterizes Sonny Landreth’s sound. Entertainment Weekly calls him “ A bona fide guitar hero.” The performance is sponsored by WAER FM 88.3.

A brilliant slide guitarist from Louisiana with over eleven recordings, Sonny’s ingenious style has been profiled on VH1.com and The Music Box as “part slide-guitar, part blues, part soul, and part rock. Landreth’s style sounds like a rock guitarist who has discovered you can have fun with a slide/bottleneck approach” (VH1.com).

Known for his captivating live performances, Landreth is a gifted musician with his unique guitar playing and spellbinding lyrics. His music continually highlights the bedrock of American sound with snappy Cajun rhythms and intricate jazz melodies. Eric Clapton has said Sonny Landreth “is probably the most underestimated musician on the planet and also probably one of the most advanced.”
