SIDNEY – The Greene Trojans baseball team faced off against Sidney in the Mini MAC tournament. Greene came in to the tournament as the sixth seed and Sidney the seventh seed.

Both teams were tied with a 3-6 league record prior to Tuesday’s match-up. Sidney went ahead with a 9-8 victory in extra innings, scoring in all but the seventh inning with Greene unable to make the complete comeback in their final at-bats.

The game was a back-and-forth affair as Sidney went on the board in the first off a home run before Greene answered back with two in the top of the second inning.

Jackson Roth, who went 3-for-5 at the plate, drove in two runs on a hard hit single to right field. Sidney tied the game in the bottom of the second before Greene added another run in the third. The Sabers tied again in the third, so Greene went ahead in a big way for the fourth with four runs.

The four-run fourth inning was led by Ryan Milk and Parker Flanagan. Milk drove in a run with a single to right and finished 2-for-4 on the day as Flanagan drilled a three-run homer to left field.
