Commerce Chenango

NORWICH – Commerce Chenango is hosting their second annual Career Expo on Thursday, May 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Norwich High School Gymnasium.

Last year, Commerce Chenango and the Norwich City School District partnered up to provide a connection between Chenango County Businesses and Junior and Senior High School Students who are seeking immediate job opportunities. This event served as a bridge between the workforce and students that was not previously present. Businesses like Chentronics and other employers, such as the city of Norwich, felt a disconnect between their workforce and the schools.

As a solution, Commerce Chenango planned and executed this initiative to link the two and provide them the opportunity to network and learn more about job opportunities available for students fresh out of high school.

Commerce Chenango President and CEO Sal Testani stated: “Commerce Chenango is very pleased to host the second annual hiring event targeting graduating seniors. This event is intended to expose the students in our area schools to the career opportunities that exist for them in Chenango County. It’s also important for the businesses who attend because they will all have positions that they need to fill, and these students can be a tremendous resource.”
