Track And Field: MAC Teams Compete At Windsor’s O’Donnell Invite

WINDSOR – All four local MAC track and field teams were in attendance for Windsor’s Gerry O’Donnell Invitational on Friday. Oneonta boys and girls won the meet with the Unadilla Valley girls and the B-G boys taking second. The B-G girls took sixth place with Oxford/Greene in 11th and the Oxford/Greene boys finished sixth overall. Runners from Afton also had a solid meet.

Afton:

Girls:

Allison Hauptmann and Grace Sabol competed in their respective fielding events to represent the Afton girls. Sabol finished 16th in the long jump with a jump of 11 feet, two and a half inches as Hauptmann threw 20 feet, two inches in the discus event for 25th place.

Boys:

There were many strong runners and fielders for the Afton boys. Bobby Mercilliott, Thomas Joyce, Ashton Adams, and Marcus Chavis had solid finishes in the races. Mercilliott came in sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25 seconds exactly as Joyce ran the 400 meter dash in a time of 54.38 seconds for fifth place with Marcus Chavis finishing 20th. Ashton Adams took seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.23.
