Baseball: B-G Picks Up Shutout Victory Vs Walton/Downsville

WALTON - After facing a setback against an unbeaten Unatego/Franklin team, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats baseball team are back to winning fashion. The Bobcats defeated Sherburne-Earlville on Thursday in a non-league match-up before they went to Walton on Friday, beating Walton/Downsville in a 9-0 shutout.

B-G scored each time at bat with at least one run in every inning. The Bobcats did score two runs in the first and two in the sixth. The offense was led by Damon Seymour, Gavin Gifford, Brayden Swartwout, and Parker Buttice, who each drove in one run.

Seymour was as strong at the plate as he was on the mound. Going the complete game, he allowed just three hits and struck out 11 batters. He had a groundout RBI in the first inning and Brayden Swartwout followed behind with his RBI single. Buttice hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning to score Swartwout. Gifford hit a fly ball to right field in the top of the sixth inning with an RBI double. Otherwise, Bobcats scored on Walton/Downsville's defensive errors.
