GREENE – After two tough games on the road against Sidney and Deposit/Hancock, the Greene Trojans softball team headed home to play under the lights against non-league opponent Dryden. Greene didn’t waste any time picking up on Dryden’s mistakes and fired up their bats in the 19-0 victory in five innings. It marked the Trojans second win of the season in their second game at home.

Greene got on the board in the bottom of the first inning as Claire Flanagan reached on a dropped third strike, moved to second on an error, and went to third on a passed ball. She also scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0 Greene. Tatianna Wells and the Trojans defense kept the Lions quiet, so that the offense could get back to the plate and around the bases.

Greene batted around in the second inning, scoring nine runs. Audra Doll reached on a walk and rounded the bases on a steal and moved to third on Kenzie Button’s bunt. She ended up scoring on the throw. Button scored on a passed ball as Dryden continued having mishaps on defense to allow more base runners. In Doll’s second at-bat, she drove in a pair with a bases-loaded double before Button hit an RBI single to shortstop, where she beat the throw.
