Trojans Sneak Out Win Over Chatham With Late TD

FONDA – The Trojans’ quarterback Nate Erickson tossed an 17 yard touchdown pass to his wide-out Noah Kennedy with 2:05 remaining to give Greene the final say in a back and forth game. With the 21-14 win, the Trojans handed Chatham its first loss of the season on Saturday in a non-league contest held at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Greene put their first points on the scoreboard when Erickson punched it in from one yard out with 1:54 left in the third quarter. Kicker Zach Gibbon put the the extra point through the uprights.

In the fourth, the Trojans took their first lead of the game with 7:54 showing on the clock. Erickson connected with Logan Kennedy for a 46 yard completion but this time, the point after try was unsuccessful to keep the score at 13-7.

One minute later, Chatham went back on top with 65-yard run by Tristan Schermerhorn. With Pat Knight’s point after kick, they held the one point lead. 

Following Greene’s go ahead score, the Trojans went for two and converted to force the Panthers to score a touchdown. The home team was unable to do so, recording their first loss of the season.
