Seward, Crouch push Cuomo to take action for long-suffering Sidney homeowners

SIDNEY – Senator James L. Seward (R – Oneonta) and Assemblyman Clifford W. Crouch (R - Bainbridge) penned a joint letter to Governor Andrew Cuomo this week, calling on the governor to take action and complete a flood buy-out program related to flooding in the Village of Sidney in 2011.

“It is reprehensible that homeowners who suffered flood and hurricane damage six years ago are still waiting for promised assistance,” said Seward. “It is well past time to provide them with real relief.”

Both Seward and Crouch report they have been contacted by homeowners in Sidney who have expressed their concerns over the complicated, drawn-out process of a federally funded home buy-out program in response to Hurricane Irene-related flooding six years ago.
