SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY – The Norwich varsity baseball team traveled to Susquehanna Valley last Friday to rematch the season opener, in hopes of coming away with a win.

Much like the first matchup, Norwich would lead early at 2-0 but failed to muster much more eventually losing 10-3.

“They got their runs in the middle part of the game, they got used to John (Predmore) pitching. We don’t recover well, when times get tough we don’t dig down deep. Losing can get contagious, we need to correct that, winning is the same way, we just cant catch breaks,” said Norwich head coach Rich Turnbull. “We have been winning every game at one point this season, I think we don’t have any amazing great pitchers. We don’t have the offensive power to get out of holes, we have made bad errors the past couple games. All of our errors were in the middle innings when they scored their runs.”

Following Norwich's early 2-0 lead, SV would rack on the points, scoring four in the second, four more in the third, and two more in the fourth.

In the loss for Norwich at the mound was John Predmore who pitched the first four innings, followed by Nick Murphy who pitched the fifth and sixth and Dylan Mack who closed out the game in the seventh inning.

SV recorded 15-hits off the Norwich pitchers while only having three errors, while Norwich recorded six hits with three errors.
